Happy Spring Equinox!!

This is a very special time of year celebrated at the start of Aries season . On this day also known as Ostara, the earth and the sun are positioned so that both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres have equal sunlight, this is symbolic of balance. This is also a time of new beginnings as the flowers bloom and new life emerges.

Many pagan religions celebrate Ostara as the time when the Earth (the Goddess) and the Sun (the God) reunite in perfect harmony. A lot of the spring equinox symbols/correspondences I’m going to share are also popular for the Christian holiday Easter, so it’s interesting to see different holidays and their origin from earlier religions and ancient rituals.

Orisha Love- Elegua

I am very interested in learning the Orishas/Loa, the 7 African Powers, I’ve written about Yemaya and Oshun already and today I am talking about ELEGUA!!

The reason why I’ve began my studies on Elegua is because in the past couple of days I’ve had a lot of weird encounters, with animals and fire alarms, weird I know, but also through a divination reading for myself I have got this message, the KEY is in the WARRIOR. I also got the message that whatever information that comes to me on Tuesday (today) is very important.

“The Key is in the Warrior”
This message could not be more perfect for ELEGUA, as he is the gate keeper, associated with Papa Legba (haitian vodou) they are the road openers. He is found at the crossroads and this is a great place to leave offerings and do magick at for protection and luck. Elegua’s day is Monday, so I will begin to spend a little time honoring him on this day.

He is one of the most sought after Orishas known to be very powerful and fast acting, as a warrior he is extremely protective. Said to have a childlike spirit, he loves candy and toys.

Offerings and Symbols of Elegua (and Papa Legba):
-The Crossroads
-The Colors Red and Black
-Monday, Friday for Battle
-Black Eyed Peas (this is a traditional New Year food, perhaps a road opener for the New Year?)
-Hard Liquor
-Spicy aromatic incenses, cinnamon, frankincense, oudh, rose.

Leave offerings at the crossroads, behind or near the front door, or in a space between buildings.

The more I learn of Elegua the more I feel like he’s been with me for awhile, he is a lover and protector of children and elderly. I’ve been working with elderly for most of my adult life and the amount of patience I have for them is amazing, thank you Elegua. Do not try to work with Elegua if you are manipulative especially to children, the elderly, or the poor. He is known to have trickster energy and can be very dangerous if you attempt to “use” him for your own selfish gain, if you thought your life was bad Elegua has the power to make it so much worse. Be honest and upfront with your intentions at all times.

Thank You for reading,

How to Manifest More Money, Tips from Magically Bree

Who wants to easily attract money and money-making opportunities? I know I do. This post is all about tips and tricks as well as correspondences for financial gain.

First lets focus on what not to do, these are the mistakes you are making that could be blocking the flow of money:

Clutter: yes, mess can have an unfavorable effect on your money. It is very important to keep your environment neat and tidy, Pests will literally eat away at your money, and having loose change lying around shows that you don’t value your money.

Holding on to receipts: these are reminders of money going OUT, and money will continue to go out if you carry a bunch of receipts with you. If you must keep them organize them in a place that is not your wallet. Also, credit cards are reminders of borrowing money, keep them to a minimum.

Poor Money Mindset: whether you have been taught through your past experiences that you don’t deserve money, or you feel like money goes more than it comes, or even that money is the root of all evil, you need to try to work with your shadow side to change your negative perception of money. These thoughts are definitely money blockers.

Ignoring the Opportunities: if you are blind to all the different ways you can make money in this day in age, you may be stuck in the 9-5 mind frame, traditional jobs are not the only way to gain financial stability. Explore 5 different ways you can make Multiple Streams of Income today, I currently have 4 ways that actually bring money to me but my goal is to have over 10 streams of income.

You don’t know how to Budget: every month you should sit down and write all of your necessary expenses (rent, gas, groceries, etc.) and think of ways to cut down on all the extras (like limiting fast food, choosing netflix over the theater, or splitting wine cost with a friend). It’s not fun, but it is important and it helps you get real about your money and your needs.

Now that you know what NOT to do you can focus on what to do to start attracting more funds in your life:

-Get to know the planets, Mercury, JUPITER, and Venus.

Mercury  (Wednesday) rules communication, commerce, and travel which are important aspects to understand when attracting money in this very global marketing time we live in, use Mercury energy to communicate what you have to offer to potential customers around the world through social networks.

Jupiter (Thursday) is the best tool for money magick, he is the benevolent giver of the universe only concerned with abundance and expansion. Just ask for what you want here with passion, and allow Jupiter to pull the strings to get you to the next level in life. This planet is associated with freedom and mastery, freedom from working for others, mastery of the skills you need to create your own opportunities.

Venus (Friday) is best known for love and beauty, but also art and luxury. This is the planet that will make you look like a million dollars and help you attract it as well. Use the charms of Venus to seal the deal at an interview or business meeting. She can help you be more attractive and therefore more persuasive.

-Get in a Giving Mood

It is the holidays and you may see more people giving from their hearts, but to attract money easily you must always be in the giving mood. Charge some money (Start with 10 $1 bills) with the intent of great return, you can do this by drawing a sigil on them or chanting over them something along the lines of…This money will return to me a hundred-fold! Now take all of the money and give to the poor and homeless in your city, do not spend the money any other way. Now watch the money come back in many different ways, and repeat the whole thing over even increasing the money that you are giving to the needy.

-Money Rituals

Create some different rituals to perform, such as a money attracting floor wash for your home or business, a money drawing mojo bag that you wear to business meetings, a candle spell, or any other rituals you can think of. Be specific with how much you need, or at least specify what you will be using the money for to give the universe some direction. I cant tell you how many time I attracted random checks in the mail for $4 or less, that’s what not being specific gets you!

Here are some herbs/crystals/correspondences that you can use in your money magick…

Herbs/Spices- Basil, Cinnamon, Allspice, Bay leaves, Clove, Dill, Ginger, Marjoram, Nutmeg, Rosemary, Sage, Vervain

Crystals- Citrine, Pyrite, Green Aventurine, Jade, Quartz, Sodalite

Correspondences- The colors green, gold, Thursdays (Jupiter), Money/Coins (real/fake), I ching coins, Bamboo, Money Sigils, Pumpkins, Road Openers, Cinnamon Brooms, Keys, Ox symbols, Goldfish, Horseshoe

I hope this post is helpful to you guys!! Now go attract some money and support Magically Bree on Patreon.com/Magicallybreeblog!!

Orisha Love: Oshun

Hey loves, I’m learning about Orishas now and want to share the things I have learned. So far I have done a post on Yemoja (or Yemaya) and up next in my studies is the charismatic and clever Oshun (Osun, Ochun), West African goddess of love, fertility and beauty, daughter of Yemoja. In Yoruba religions she is one of the many lovers of Shango (Chango), the god of thunder and considered one of the favorite Orishas due to her beauty and sensual nature, she is often able to accomplish what others cannot simply because of her flirty nature, remember you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

She is sweet, kind and graceful, she loves her children greatly but if angered it is believed she will cause flood or droughts. She can be found in rivers or other fresh water bodies of water, there is a river that bares her name in Nigeria.

Oshun is the ultimate wifey archetype, and by adopting her behaviours you will keep a man happy:
Stay naturally pretty (avoid following trends)
Make your home clean and beautiful
Keep away from debt (Oshun hates being broke)

Oshun Symbolism to use in rituals, offerings or altars:
Gold and Yellow colors
Yellow Butterflies
Yellow Roses
Honey (she is known to wear a honey pot around her waist) Also, honey needs to be tasted before offering it to her. Failure to do so can lead to problems. Someone tried to poison her with honey; because of that, we taste the honey we bring her to prove that it is untainted.
Lemons (other citrus fruits as well)

In pop culture Oshun has been portrayed in the media many times, you may recognize her likeness in this Beyonce moment…

She represents all the sweet things in life, the things that make life worth living such as new love or dancing in the rain. She loves beauty and can be very vain at times, always carrying a mirror to admire herself. I liken her to a Libra or Taurus who are ruled by planet Venus.

Dream Recall

This post is for those of us who would love to remember our dreams, especially for divination and dream journaling.

I’m definitely writing this post for myself, because like many others I have a really difficult time remembering more than bits and pieces of my dreams after waking up and I know that there is so much to gain from trying these tips for dream recall

People who get good-quality sleep also tend to have and remember more dreams – that means sleeping 7-9 hours per night on a consistent schedule.

Let’s start with some practical things you want to take care of before going to bed:

  1. Make sure all of your basic needs have been met, are you thirsty? drink water, hungry? eat a healthy meal, pretty commonsense, right?
  2. Don’t consume medications/drugs or drink alcohol for a few hours before bedtime, these things can impact your cognitive abilities and interfere with your memory.
  3. Meditate before sleep to ensure your mind and body are relaxed, if you need meditation tips, check out this post

When going to sleep, tell yourself “I will remember my dream tonight” by making the conscious decision to remember the dream, you’re more likely to do it.

Things to do when you wake up:

  1. Your first waking moments should be spent thinking about what your dream was about. Remember as many details as possible, down to the emotions the dream made you feel.
  2. Write down everything that came to mind, even if it seems insignificant record all the details. Everything won’t come to you immediately, you may remember more throughout the day, write these things down as they come.

You will start to notice it becomes easier to recall your dreams after you repeat the bedtime routine and the waking up routine for several days (or weeks).

Other tips for dream recall:

  • Place crystals under your pillow, the best ones for dream recall are Amethyst, Kyanite, Herkimer Diamonds, and Quartz
  • Try diffusing these essential oils for more vivid dreams; rose, sandalwood, clary sage, cedarwood and Frankincense are great for this.

You may also want to try brewing a Dream tea to enhance your dreams, these are some herbs that are safe to ingest (always research herbs before drinking/eating):

Valerian Root has been used to induce lucid dreaming for centuries. It can help create more vivid dreams–and intense ones, too.

Ginko Biloba is known to increase our brain function and improve memory. In sleep it can make dreams more vivid and we can feel more alert.

Calea Zachatechi is called the Dream Herb and is a plant that has been used in parts of Mexico for a very long time. It has been scientifically proven to increase reaction time and frequency of dreams as well as encourage vivid and lucid dreams.

Peppermint can support lucid and vivid dreaming, and some users even report a “prophetic” quality to dreams when peppermint is involved.

Passionflower is very relaxing and sedative, helping to bring about a calmer dream state.

I hope you guys enjoy this post and try some of these dream recall tips and stay tuned as I share some of the dreams I remember using these tips!

Spiritual Cleansing…

It is very important to do spiritual cleansing often (especially for for us practicing the craft or performing divinations).

Spiritual baths are used for renewal and protection for yourself and your home. You can make a spiritual bath with a blend of *Hyssop, Florida water, basil, rue, rosemary, and spring water, or whatever blend of ingredients you like.

Ask for blessings, protection, cleansing, peace or whatever else you need as you pour the spiritual wash over you from top to bottom. This spiritual water also works in the home as a floor wash, as you mop the floor with the blend think of all the blessings you are bringing into your home. Throw the remnants of the spiritual bath/floor wash out your front door.

*the hyssop is important guys, it’s the one ingredient I would use in spiritual baths above all others. The Bible mentions hyssop several times, mostly in the Old Testament. In Leviticus, God commanded His people to use hyssop in the ceremonial cleansing of people and houses.

I use this Hyssop oil that comes from Jerusalem, it smells soooo good.

Moon Animals

I love the Moon! Every phase is magical and I always find myself mesmerized by the glow of the moon. So in honor of the beautiful moon, I am writing this blog post about lunar animals.

You may see people casually refer to animals as ‘totems’ or a ‘spirit animals’ but I think it’s important to note that those beliefs are apart of indigenous religions and is taken very seriously within those tribes and cultures, traditionally they would perform sacred rituals before claiming an animal as their “spirit animal”. (Just a little note because it’s not fair to Natives to make light of their religious practices)

The symbolism of animals (and plants) is important for everyone to know. Throughout history mankind has lived alongside animals; the stories, fables, myths of animals teaches us about ourselves and life’s complexity. As a witch it is even more helpful to have a knowledge of animal symbolism, as references for spells and divination. Some witches have ‘familiars’ that are animals, such as a cat that assists in magickal workings.

Owls- The Owl is believed to be a ruler of the night and seer of souls. We often see them portrayed as “Wise”. They are careful in nature, mysterious, and powerful. Most owls are nocturnal, saving their hunting for nighttime, which is how they are connected to moon lore.

Wolves-  Thewolf is a creature with a high sense of loyalty, they are social animals despite the “lone wolf” misnomer. They are known for their wide range of vocal expressions and protective nature, wolf symbolism can be used in communication and protection work.

Bats- The bat is highly sensitive to their surroundings and considered a symbol of intuition, dreaming and vision. They symbolize perception on a psychic level, and can symbols of the bat can be used to have prophetic dreams or gain hidden knowledge.

Crabs- Because the Moon is the ruler of the zodiac sign Cancer, the crab is probably the most powerful animal associated with the Moon. Think about Cancer traits, protective, loyal, intuitive and feminine in nature. They also are emotional because of the close proximity to the element water.

Cats- Cats are associated to magick and the moon, they were also the symbolic animal of the Roman goddess Diana, Goddess of the Moon. Some fear cats, ever heard of bad luck of black cats? but many cultures worshiped the cat especially in Ancient Egypt and Rome.

Of course, more animals that are associated with the moon, all of the nocturnal animals and all sea creatures too!

Thanks for reading, feel free to share to your blog!

Angel Numbers

These repeating numbers are signs and symbols of synchronicity from spirit guides and angels.

These number sequences are important because they catch our attention and are more likely to stick with you. This is spirits way to signal us to inspire positive vibes.

A message to be aware of your reoccurring thoughts, these thoughts are manifesting quickly, make sure you have positive and optimistic mindset. Be inspirational.

Very powerful as 22 is a master builder number, 222 has to deal with balance, harmony, faith, trust, duality, cooperation and timely opportunities. Keep your faith.

Seeing this after prayer is indication that your prayers have been heard and supported by Jesus. The more threes you see the better. As so above, so below. Trinity.

Your angels are by your side asking that you pay attention closely to the world around you. You are protected. This relates to your home life and inner circle.

Signifies positive change ahead. Prepare and embrace these life changes.

Most recognized for its controversy and association with the devil. Calls for reevaluation, seek truth, question your beliefs, get on the right path, unlearning is important.

Look to the past and learn the lessons but do not dwell. Make conscious decisions and use caution while making moves. Sit with your spirit guides.

Money, abundance and balance. Seeing 888 multiple times in a day is a sign that money is coming. Align yourself with an abundance mindset to make manifesting much easier.

Completion of a cycle. Closure. Shift for change as your next phase of life begins. The final step, new beginnings.

Fresh beginnings, start something new. This means GO! New potential and possibilities ahead.

This is a wake up call! Higher consciousness communication with angels and spirit guides is heightened. Make your wishes known!

Visualization Technique

Hey guys, I have been reading more lately and right now I’m reading a book about using the Law of Attraction for controlling others using subconscious communication especially when it comes to love. I’m really into how to strengthen the powers of the mind and visualization is a HUGE part of that.

Here is the visualization technique given in the book, in my understanding:

First you want to relax, by meditating

Next you want to focus energy opening your heart chakra and charging your third eye. You want to be open to love, but you have to be able to visualize it in your third eye.

Now picture your target (lover, husband, significant other, partner, boss, whoever you want to direct), picture them a distance away, you don’t have to perfectly see them but you do want to “see” them.

Call their name, wait for their response, repeat until you see them acknowledge you. Your subconscious is beckoning their subconscious, once they respond you know contact has been made.

Now what is it that you want them to say to you? Imagine you are side by side (you should only see them and not yourself, as if they were really next to you) hear their words (the words you want to hear) and respond to them in the same way you would if it were actually happening.

Make it brief but make it remarkable, your emotions during this visualization are what really make it work.

Open your eyes, and trust that your message got to your target.
Wait for results.

Now I must say I’ve tried it several times since reading this book and so far it’s worked and “not worked” (in quotation because I can’t for sure say it did not work, I just haven’t seen the results yet). I’d like to give you guys full details of how I know it worked but I am still working on this and do not want to get ahead of myself!

Let me know if you try this, if it works and if it doesn’t!

Thanks for reading! Support me on patreon if you like my content and want to see more in depth write ups, videos, giveaways and more.

With Love,

Imagine a world where you don’t have to worry about money or lack thereof, what would you do?

This question has inspired me to really think about how I will live when money isn’t something that I am worried about.

These are the top 5 changes I would make to my life:

  1. Homeschooling my Children. This is definitely the first change I would make to my life. I would teach my kids in a non-traditional way either through hands on learning and travel, or some loosely based art and culture curriculum. I have so many ideas when it comes to homeschooling and I trust that I am the best person to give my children a quality education. The only thing that holds me back now is the fact that I have to work as I am the sole provider in my home.
  2. Painting Every Day. I wouldn’t have the excuse that I use now that I’m tired from work and kids. I would of course still have kids but with the extra time of not having to clock in 9-5 I would have more time to paint, and as an artist this is a dream come true.
  3. Blogging and Vlogging on a regular schedule. Just like I said about painting daily, I would have much more time to devote to my online presence than I do now. I would be more serious about blogging my life’s experiences and sharing inspiration about living a life that you love.
  4. Travelling. This is the first place my mind went when this question “What would you do if money wasn’t an issue?” was asked. I would travel, take pictures, eat lots of new foods, relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the different parts of the world.
  5. Becoming a Philanthropist. If money wasn’t an issue for me I would love to donate to charities and those less fortunate. I would donate money, but more importantly I would donate my time and teach my children to volunteer and donate to their favorite causes as well.

Dragonfly Symbolism

Dragonflies are fast, powerful and poised. They can fly in any direction, representing adaptability. They are fast flying up to 45 mph which is a good thing because of their short lifespans of only 7 months. When a dragonfly is near this could be spirits way of encouraging you to live fully in the moment without wasting time.

Dragonflies are known to playfully skid across the surface of ponds and puddles, for water is symbolic of emotion. This could be the reason why some cultures associate dragonflies with change, especially when it comes to self realization and personal growth.
